Davis Poisson is a trial attorney with Poisson, Poisson & Bower, PLLC and is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina. Davis devotes the majority of his practice to civil litigation with a focus on personal injury law. He represents clients throughout the Carolinas in all areas of personal injury law including car accidents, trucking accidents, catastrophic injury, premises liability and wrongful death cases.

In 2013, Davis graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law, Magna Cum Laude, in just two and a half years. In 2017, Davis tried a weeklong civil trial resulting in an outstanding Plaintiff’s verdict and then sat for the South Carolina Bar Exam a few weeks later. He was sworn in to practice law in South Carolina in May of 2017.

Davis is an active member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice serving on the Board of Governors for the organization for 2016-17 and 2017-18. He chaired the consumer/ commercial litigation section during that time period. Davis is also a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice.

In 2021, Davis was elected by his peers to be the State Bar councilor for District 21, representing Anson, Richmond and Scotland Counties on the North Carolina State Bar. His father and grandfather were elected to serve in the same capacity for 18 years, from 1997 to 2014, while practicing law in Anson County, and his great-grandfather served in the same role for New Hanover County for many years until he was elected to be president of the North Carolina State Bar in 1951.

Davis followed in the footsteps of his father and sister in joining the law firm of Poisson, Poisson & Bower, PLLC. Like his sister, Stewart Poisson, he is a third-generation lawyer to practice law in Anson County and a fifth-generation lawyer to practice in North Carolina since 1857.
