Ideally, you shouldn’t say anything until you’ve spoken to an attorney. Then, the only thing you need to say is: “Talk to my lawyer.” Insurance adjusters can be pushy, though. Even when you are trying to just be polite and get off the phone, they may slip in questions to trick you into saying something that could hurt your case. Don’t say anything that could be taken as an admission of guilt (such as saying you’re “sorry” the crash happened). Do not answer questions about how you are feeling or your injuries. Anything you say to an insurance adjuster can be used against you.
